.How Did I Spend My Semester Holidays?.

HELLO. How are you readers?? Hope that all of you were in the pink of health. Last two weeks would be our semester break after entering the life of a college student for Semester II . And it was such a pleasant relieve because I don’t think any of us could take another pressure after weeks of quizzes and test. My friends and I were planning to take a vacation to Terengganu.


On the first day, we went to LA Hot Spring in Besut. The hotspring is very special with its water temperature ranging from 45 - 49 degrees Ceicius. The water contains natural sulphur which is said to have healing properties.



Then we go to Tasik Kenyir or known well as Malaysia's largest rock-filled hydroelectric dam. Surrounded by a lush tropical jungle, the Kenyir Lake is a popular and ideal retreat for nature lovers, anglers, photo enthusiasts and fun seekers. We have some wonderful experiences there when we get in canoeing besides enjoying the fresh atmosphere there.

The next day we deciced to go to Chendering which is the site of the Malaysian Handicraft Centre. The centre offers visitors a wide variety of Malaysian handicraft and also an insight into handicraft making. Some of the attractive items which can be found here are songket, batik, vases, and mats, hats, wallets and bags made from pandanus leaves. We also get a chance to witness first hand the skills of local artisans in songket and basket weaving besides the batik painting.



Then we went to Pasar Payang which is a must-visit especially for the first-time visitors to this Sea turtle state. The Central Market is located by the Terengganu River. It is a favourite destination of tourists as this combination of a wet market and shopping arcade sells interesting local handicrafts like batik, brassware, brocade and songket alongside fresh local produce like fruits, vegetables and fish, or even the local delicacies such as the Keropok Lekor, made of grounded fish and flour, and 'serunding', the spicy flavoursome meat floss. It is a great shopping destination and an interesting sight.




The most enjoyable moment is when we get to visit to Yak Yah River which is famous for the fact that it is home to one of the biggest firefly colonies in Malaysia. As dusk fell, flashing fireflies can be found throughout the 13 kilometres length of the river, although the best ‘lights’ display is said to be about 5 kilometres from the jetty. Thousands, if not millions of fireflies get together, creating is a wondrous symphony of lights that is truly a sight to behold.



Due to its geographical location and historical background, Terengganu cuisine displays a strong influence of Thai, Chinese and Indian cuisines. Dining out in Terengganu is relatively inexpensive and there are always plenty of choices ranging from hotels to hawker stalls. With endless variety of delicious temptations available day or night in Terengganu, your taste buds may need to work overtime to savour it all. Lompat Tikam, Sata, Nasi dagang and laksam Terengganu are among the signature cuisines of Terengganu.




We bought some souveniers as the remembrance to this vacation. We were very happy and hopefully we can have these wonderful experiences together again. :)

.The Importance of English.

Yes, English is one of the most important languages in the world. It is true that other languages are important too but not for the same reasons as English is important. English is important because it is, maybe the only language that truly links the whole world together.The other languages maybe important for their local values and culture.



English can be used as language in any parts of the world. This is because at least a few people in each locality would know the language. There are various reasons for the importance of English language which are listed below:

1. TRAVEL: When a person travel to another part of the world either for the sake of business or even as a tourists, the language may be differ. In this condition, English will help people to deal with the situtian. It's universal :)

2. EDUCATION: Education has increased the role of English. People who go to other country for study can only have English as the medium of study. This is because an individual will not be able to learn a subject in the local language of the country.

3. INTERNET In spite of the growth of Internet in various languages, English is the mainstay of the Internet users.This is the language in which most of the information and websites are available. It is very difficult to translate each and every relevant web page into the language of each country.

The future of English as a language is very secure.In this era of technology, English can be made as a single language of the world so that people nowadays will know how importance of the English language.

When it comes to New Year, people always have been asking what their New Year’s resolutions are. Well, we want to share with you about 4 main New Year’s resolutions as a student. Check this out!



Fit In Fitness
As a student which lives in student life, we are getting very busy for the starting of the semester. So, no matter how busy we are, we should go for some exercise to keep us in healthy condition.



Improve Education
Studying in chemical engineering is always predicted as a tough course by other people. So, what we are waiting for? Start our new semester with a positive thought. Keep studying to get a good grade in each test and have an excellent mark for all subjects or else 4 flat will be yours!



Manage the Finances
MARA Loan are kept saying in this starting of semester. Why? For degree semester 2 students, this is our first time to have RM 4+++ in our account. What a lot of numbers. So, it is better for us, to spend this money wisely. Keep it safe in bank for the better future. =)



Keep Our Faith Safe
Last but not least, as a Muslim it is our responsibility to be born as a Muslim and to be died as a Muslim too. We should not leave our 5 times in a day prayer to Allah because this is the backbone of Islam. Keep al-Quran as the best book ever and try to understand what the content is. Our New Year will be more meaningful in the Islamic way of life.

New story.new life and the most important,
new VISSION and MISSION.
Symbolically,New Year signifies a renewal of life.
All of us should have to bear in mind and aim something
that can predict the bright future.

What about the new year celebration?
As the past celebration, we can see that colourful fireworks, music and dance rocked the city as thousands partied to welcome the arrival of 2010.Major roads in the federal capital were lined up for the people including to the tourists to bid farewell to 2009 and countdown to New Year with local and international artistes leading the entertainment.



Many of us are willing to brave the crowds and get stucked in a bumper to bumper traffic jam just to watch the fireworks! There's just something about stopping by the roadside and waiting by the car to celebrate the new year with others.Shouts of "Happy New Year" and 'Satu Malaysia' filled the air as the clock struck midnight.

Besides,we can see the people especially teenagers dance the night away with their indie live band and at the stroke of midnight, join in the countdown cheers and shouts of joy as we welcome a brand new year. Exactly at midnight, some famous place such as Dataran Merdeka and KLCC was rocked by the loud firing of fireworks which lighted the night with a myriad of colours.

Meanwhile,some mosques had its own programme to welcome the new year with a religious talk or named as "ceramah".From the programme, we can see that people especially youth and teenagers will get new knowledge and some moral value so that they will not doing any disadvantages activities for the future.

Hopefully that this 2010 will bring more success which is too important for our future.Do achieve the targets so that you will not regret as the time now become too fast.Last but not least,take care.Have a nice day :)
